Asus Eee PC 1001P-MU17 10.1-Inch Netbook Pros:
- It is more than adequate for most computing tasks short of video editing.
- The keyboard is great. It is 92-93% of a regular-sized keyboard
- The Super Hybrid Engine feature is great. It seems to me that is exclusive to Asus.
- The Battery — Easily lasts at least nine hours, sometimes more if I have it in Power Saver mode.
- The LCD –This one comes with the matte LCD style. I thought it would be less sharper or poorer viewing angles, but it seems sharp enough for me.
- No fingerprints. Seriously, the finish on this thing attracts very few fingerprints. The finish is a lot better than the gloss finish on most netbooks. I really like design of this netbook.
- Quiet — Even on high performance the fan is really quiet.
- Windows 7 — I came from XP to this 7 starter, and I have no complaints. It is sleek, simple, and intuitive. I feel no need to upgrade to Home Premium.
Cons:
- Fn numeric keys are hard to use
- touch pad buttons are always stiff
So, in closing, you get what you pay for. It’s met our expectations, and knowing what we know, we’d buy this again. Good value, great battery life, light and easy to carry, does the job we wanted it to.

- Size is great: about the size of a hardcover novel.

- Great battery life, not 10.5 hours as claimed but definitely 7-8 hours of regular use.
- It’s small and easy to use. The keyboard and trackpad work
Cons:
- 1GB RAM is not enough, and this computer is significantly slower than my regular computer.
Review:
It functions as it’s supposed to, it’s on the leading edge of technology in it’s price range, it is very robust for its size and it’s a real value price wise. And it looks good too. It’s prompted several nice comments from people who have seen me with it. My initial impression is it’s a very good buy.

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE cheap netbook is still the best on the market as of now.
Pros:
- The battery life is great! Genuinely good battery life, got 13 hours out of writing research papers on Word. Another note on the battery, in the earlier 1005 netbooks, the battery would stick out past the screen on the rear of the netbook. That is no longer the case, on the 1005PE it is flush with the rear of the netbook.
- The keyboard is nice, chiclet keyboard feels great to type on
- Screen is bright enough
- Windows 7 starter and Asus Utility, it runs pretty fast
Cons:
- Windows 7 "Starter" edition, if that matters to you
- Slightly heavy for the size and definitely heavier than some other netbooks
